October's Halloween Challenge!

Owl Spotlight: BlackCatMima
The summer heat is here and my favorite way to cool off is to jump into my neighborhood pool for a refreshing swim. Ahhhh - the cool water quenching your hot and sweaty skin, sounds of happy children playing, the smell of the chlorinated waters and sunblock in the air ... it's the ultimate summer experience to me!
I live in a townhouse subdivision in the Chicago suburbs and the subdivision pool is literally right across the street from my house. All summer long, right from my front porch, you can hear the music playing, the children laughing and the water splashing. This is just one of the many reasons that I absolutely love summer!
Another great way to cool off - stay inside your air conditioned home and shop on Etsy of course! Go grab some lemonade or iced tea and let's go see what we can find . . .

Something New This Way Comes...
We've got some new things up on our blog! One is the search box at the top of the left hand column, it's set up to especially search our blog, so if you're looking for something, check it out! It's a great new Blogger feature and we're very excited about it!
Secondly, within our team we've started a mega-intensive promotion group, called the Hooters Promo Club, or HPC. Members sign up for this on their own, so it's not the entire team, (this round it's only 7 members thus far) and each week we'll take turns being the one promoted. First up is BlackCatMima and for the entire week we'll keep her Etsy Mini here on the blog, it's on the left below the Project Wonderful ad box!
We're also launching a challenge tomorrow, so stay tuned!

Go Green With The Owls!
In honor of Earth Day, we're highlighting some of our team members who have eco-friendly items in their shops! Crafting with something upcycled or recycled gives a new challenge to the process and new life to something that might otherwise be cast aside! Our Owls get crafty with your old pants, scraps of glass, and more! We're also highlighting several shops who stress going green! Enjoy, and shop GREEN on Earth Day, and beyond. Happy Earth Day!
SquareJane recycles about everything she can get her hands on! In this listing, it's a man's suit, and look at what she's done with it!
CagedBirdSings makes glass windchimes, and keeps her scraps to make smaller 'Itty' chimes! She also uses sticks! Look!
This item from Zemphira isn't upcycled, but she makes it so much easier for you to go green! She makes reusable market totes, coffee cozies, and more recently, sandwich/snack bags like this one below. Pack your lunch for work every day, or make lunch for your kids? Get rid of the constant need to buy those plastic ziploc bags and go green! Not only will it save you money and save the planet, but it's way cuter :)
